Meet Megan
Ms. Megan Hall has been an instructor with Awakening Minds Art for eight years and the program director for the last five.
She was introduced to AMA while working in a local school. When she sat in with a student during an AMA one-on-one class, she thought to herself, “Why am I not doing this??” And the rest is history!
When it was announced that AMA would be shutting its doors due to the pandemic, Megan wasn’t ready to give up on something that she’d devoted so much of her heart to. “I wasn’t going to accept [closing] as an answer, that we were just done.”

WHAT IS YOUR “WHY?"
For Megan, her students are everything! She’s still here, fighting for AMA, because she knows how much programming means to her students and how much it would be missed. One-on-one, therapeutic programming has aligned with her personal mission (or her “why”) since the beginning.
“I enjoy the personal relationships that you develop, and once you hop in on their journey, you want to see it through. It’s pretty awesome to see, especially the students who I’ve been with for 8 years now, to see how much they’ve grown."
“Even though their interests have changed, they’re still able to use art to express themselves and explore their likes and dislikes.”

Megan is one of two instructors who came back after shutting down the S. Main studio in March. She is now an independent contractor and volunteers to help with community collaborations and program development.
Awakening Minds Art is extremely lucky to have such a dedicated, intelligent woman working towards making AMA the best it can be!
